Police probe fatal car crash

HARLINGEN — Police are seeking more information about a single-car crash that left a 24-year-old woman dead early yesterday morning.

The woman, identified as Ashley Marie Nava, was found unresponsive in the back seat of the car.

Harlingen police were dispatched shortly after 5 a.m. yesterday to the 21500 block of FM 507 for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

A black 2005 Honda Accord was reported to have lost control, veering off the roadway into a ditch and then striking a wooden utility pole.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman in the back seat.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
