Looking for Nora: Search party heading out today

RAYMONDVILLE — Volunteer search efforts begin today for a missing Raymondville woman.

Veteran Nora Conde Villalobos, 49, has been missing since last Wednesday.

She was last seen near her home wearing a red top with silver pants.

In addition to a vigil that was held last night, the Raymondville American Legion, veterans and volunteers have banded together to find her.

Today, beginning at 8 a.m., volunteers will meet at the Raymondville American Legion, located at 211 W. Hidalgo Ave to start their search efforts.

Police said Nora suffers from hypertension and Crohn’s disease and is in need of medication.

Her boyfriend, who police said was the last person to see her, is considered a person of interest. Police Chief Uvaldo Zamora said he is cooperating with authorities.

Legion Post 390 Commander George Solis said anyone who wants to volunteer their time is welcome.

Solis is encouraging all, especially fellow veterans, to help in the search.

“That’s what we are all about,” he said. “Helping veterans and their families.”

After meeting up at the legion, volunteers will go over maps of the area and move on to the search from there.

Volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately for the outdoor search.

Solis said the search will run through to Saturday or until Nora is found.
