The San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy Dazzlers proudly competed at the recent American Dance/Drill Team® School (ADTS) Galveston Island Dance Festival at the Moody Gardens Convention Center.
The Dazzlers won the “Best in Class Team,” “Best Overall Team – Silver,” and “Sweepstakes” Junior Varsity Class awards. The prestigious Sweepstakes award is given to dance teams that earn a Division I rating in each of three dance categories – kick, novelty, and hip hop.
The award-winning dance team includes, in no particular order, Daniela Niño, Heaven Salinas, Merizah Martinez, Tabitha Lafuente, Kathline Gonzales, Megan Ayala, Stephanie De Los Santos, Asiana Garcia, Skylar Gonzales, Elizabeth Rosenbaum, and Mia Satterfield. The Dazzlers perform under the direction of head coach/sponsor Isabel De La Cruz (far right) and assistant Brandi Gonzalez (far left).
