BROWNSVILLE — Elementary schools kicked off their Spring Break vacation Friday with a field trip into the wild at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville.
School children smiled and laughed as they viewed each animal exhibit at the zoo. Teachers read educational signage about each animal to the children, who curiously gazed at each animal in its exhibit.
As each school departed from its field trip, children made sure to stop and snap a picture with friends next to a bronze sculpture of a gorilla.
