Advice: The art of living a good life

BY MARIA LUISA SALCINES

Living your best life is about prioritizing what is important to you without letting the nonsense that keeps you up at night overwhelm you. This is not easy. As adults, we spend a lot of time trying to find a balance.

We all have demands that take up a lot of time and energy, making it important to decipher what is most important to you and what is not.

As we age, we realize few things in life have a lasting impact. Life-altering situations change our perspective. So, it is important to invest in yourself.

In order to evolve as a person we must face life with optimism and courage, keep learning and trying new things. You will discover that you are stronger than you know.

No matter much love you receive from your family and friends, you’re responsible for your happiness.

In life, people will disappoint you and you will find that genuine friendships are hard to come by. This will make you value the people you can count on.

Also, your bank account is not an indication of happiness or success. Living life with peace is more valuable.

Learn how to get rid of anything that isn’t useful or joyful, including people in that bring you down. Consider leaving the job you hate.

You will have bad days. On those days, count on God. With God you will have much more peace in your heart.
