The case against the La Grulla mayor who was charged with theft was dismissed Tuesday.
La Grulla Mayor Pedro Flores was charged with theft by a public servant after allegedly ordering La Grulla firefighters to use a city fire truck to fill up his swimming pool at his home.
There had been little movement in the case until last month when County Court-at-law Judge Romero Molina issued a bench warrant for Flores’ arrest.
The warrant was issued after he allegedly failed to appear in court in December 2015, however Flores said last week he never received a notice to appear. The arrest warrant was not served.
A hearing was then held Tuesday morning during which time the case was dismissed. When reached by phone Tuesday evening, Flores would not comment.
Flores began serving in public office in 2009 as Place 2 city commissioner. He then became mayor in 2013 and won reelection in May 2017.
