Questions for the ‘open borders crowd’
I would like to address those who have used this forum to condemn efforts/proposals of the Trump administration to secure the border and stem the tide of illegal immigration. Among those critics is “potty mouth” U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela, who once stated something to the effect that President Trump could take the border wall and shove it. I would like that Vela and other members of the open borders crowd (OBC) to consider the questions/comments outlined below.
1. What part of illegal do you not understand?
2. Where is it written that the U.S. is obligated to take in anyone who claims they are fleeing from violence and disorder in their home country or simply searching for a better life? Such a claim can be made by a large percentage of the world’s population.
3. Why should U.S. payers foot the bill for foster care for so-called unaccompanied minors and food, shelter, medical care, etc., for others apprehended and detained.
Members of the OBC should perhaps put their money where their mouth is and adopt an illegal immigrant family and pay for the above mentioned costs/services.
I have often wondered if members of the OBC would be so sympathetic to the plight of illegal immigrants if they or a loved one became a victim of a crime committed by an illegal immigrant.
Members of the OBC should perhaps not be so quick to condemn any effort of the Trump administration to enforce immigration laws and secure the border.
