LETTERS: On DC shooting and DC antics

Democrats, not guns are problem

Federal background checks do help to identify known criminals and prevent them from legally purchasing firearms. But background checks do nothing to identify latent criminals. These people have intentions of committing crimes with guns but have not done so yet. Case in point: Bernie Sanders supporter James T. Hodgkinson, who police say shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, of Louisiana, on Wednesday and fired into a group of Republicans playing baseball in Alexandria, Virginia. He purchased his guns legally in the state of Illinois. There is no law, nor do I believe will there ever be a law, that can keep guns out of the hands of criminals simply because criminals do not obey the law. If they cannot purchase a gun by legal methods they will find another way of obtaining one.

Most gun crimes are committed by Democrats. Government statistics indicate that the majority of gun deaths are committed by Democrats. Perhaps one’s political party affiliation or political ideology should be investigated to consider if someone can purchase a gun. Guns are not the problem. Democrats are the problem.

The Round Table

On June 12, I watched on TV with amazement the president’s cabinet’s performance!

Their affirmation of love, loyalty, admiration and duty to the president reminded me of Medieval movies of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The knights also pledged their love, loyalty and duty to the King!

Incredible!
