LETTER: Voting rights under attack

Voting should be simple. If many states wish to hamper easy voting, then the federal government should step in via legislation and thwart the new laws that are aimed at restricting voting, especially by Latinos and Afro-Americans.

States’ rights — fine! But not when they carry one back to 1865 to 1964; that was a long life for repression, and here we are close again.

Even if your voting is easy, spend a moment thinking of millions of others and their difficulties.

Do not be so smug as to say, “It’s not my business. I do OK. I don’t live in Georgia, Arizona and another place in Texas.”
