9-month road closure near south Pharr starts today

Prepare for even more construction.

According to the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority, there will be a temporary nine-month road closure near south Pharr.

As of today, traffic will be detoured onto Jackson Road through Thomas/Whalen Road due to traffic being blocked off along south McColl Road, according to the city’s news release.

The closure is scheduled to run until Nov. 10, 2023, while the project’s prime contractor, Pulice Construction Inc., installs a “proposed overpass bridge at this intersection,” the release stated.
