Can the news media begin at the beginning of the refugee story? How about starting with the murder of Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero for standing up for the poor, the trade unionists, the small farmers and destitute laborers who were being murdered by death squads organized and trained by the CIA and U.S. corporations to deny just economics for all the people?
Please start at the beginning. And if President Biden is truly interested in economic justice for all, as a Catholic, he should demand at least a $5 per hour raise for these workers so they might make a better living where they live.
