Letters: Offer details with promises

Both Mayra Flores and Monica De La Cruz are running for Congress in the Republican Party. They both say what many people want to hear. They will fight for lower gas prices and to lower taxes. But what they fail to mention is how they will lower gas prices.

When they first made this claim gas was over $5 a gallon; now it’s $2.80. It’s already coming down without them doing anything.

Whose taxes are they planning to lower — the rich, like the GOP did under Trump?

If they really want to make a point on taxes, address the real taxes affecting all of us, which is putting a lid on the property tax hikes the county commissioners keep pushing every year.

So what are your plans, Mayra and Monica? Don’t say what people want to hear but display the plan that you plan to unveil to put this into effect. Or are both of you just going to ride behind someone else’s coat once and if you get elected? Will you vote with the MAGA Republicans or will you vote for your country and uphold the Constitution?

And Monica, do everyone a favor. If you lose like last time, don’t start crying that your election got stolen.

Thoughts and questions from a 68-year-young retired man:

Why is “Creepy Joe” Biden still in office and not impeached yet? Why is Kamala “Giggles” Harris still vice president when she is the so-called border czar who lies to the American people about the borders being closed?

Why did the city of Pharr’s current City Commission buy a bankrupt EMS company whose owner pleaded guilty to bankrupt fraud?

When did Stacey Abrams graduate from medical school?

I’m still figuring out why the NFL coaches cover their mouths when telling the quarterback what play to run.

Did former Pharr city manager and police chief Andy Harvey get paid two checks for two jobs” Why did current Pharr Deputy City Manager Ed Wylie authorize the payment of $5,700 for cookies made by a local bakery? Why did Pharr EMS officials lay off 40 employees when the city has two city attorneys who make more then $150,000 for part-time work and also have two city managers who also earn close to $150,000?

Racism is here and will be here until the world explodes because we are all human!

I love being old because I’ve lived a good life!

Why does 40% percent of the RGV population not vote? It’s a fact that our Raza comprises 40% of the Texas population and other groups comprise the rest!

Why doesn’t the state of Texas not have a holiday for Dr. Hector P. Garcia, who started the American GI Forum because Mexican American soldiers who fought and died in World War II were not allowed to be buried in white cemeteries?

I firmly challenge all RGV citizens to get out and vote early in October and Election Day in November!

Last, I thank our almighty Lord Jesus Christ for giving me great parents and wonderful brothers, sisters and two beautiful adult children!

Confusing

Democrats

I’m confused. The Democrats in Washington keep escalating the national debt, leaving the burden of repayment to future generations. But they keep killing the future generations before they leave the womb! Somebody up there needs to do the math.
