This letter’s purpose was to honor May 14, including my hometown of Alpine, opposing the Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. However, sudden news of the supermarket shooting in a Buffalo, N.Y., predominantly black neighborhood, my former home town, hit me hard. Before I completed this, multiple shootings occurred at a Houston flea-market and Laguna Woods, Calif., church! Enough yet?
Columbine, El Paso, Buffalo, are each American’s home town. Frequency predicts firearms’ carnage visiting your home, former or future hometowns.
The conscience of the nation requires heart-felt conversations about our part in the carnage. This isn’t “blame shifting.” Nothing occurs in a vacuum.
Words have meaning. Alex Jones’ “fake news” about Sandy Hook, Tucker Carlson’s White Replacement, the Buffalo-area shooter justifying murder. Include GOPers, NRA and uninformed beliefs that the 2nd Amendment isn’t subject to reasonable regulations.
It is well-past time to get straight with that amendment. See “Forum: Constitution’s Bill of Rights Has Limits” and arch-conservative Antonin Scalia’s D.C. v. Heller Supreme Court decision. None of the Bill of Rights’ Amendments accept anti-social behaviors.
Each action has a consequential reaction in a modern, one-hometown world. Tragically, a consciousness remains permitting barbarism washed in the blood of innocents.
Pro-life about abortion? Another mass shooting and don’t much blink?

Joe Biden and Democrats are at war with the American people and the American economic system. What’s his endgame?
In a recent poll, 70% of respondents stated they think that the U.S. is on the wrong track with Biden. Some of you keep saying that it’s time to move on from Trump. But sorry, can’t do that!
I think Trump’s years as president were the “good old days.” Life was better back then without these high gas prices and historic inflation rates.
Let’s not mention Biden’s disastrous illegal immigration policies and the impending war. The only thing Biden is good for is to remind us that Trump was “right” for the U.S.!
Everything the Democrats claimed would happen under Trump is now coming true with Biden. They thought Trump would start World War III, but it’s happening with Biden.
Democrats accused Trump of “being in bed” with Russia, but we know that Obama/Hillary transferred 20% of U.S. uranium to Russia in the Uranium One deal. Bill Clinton was paid $500,000 by a Kremlin-backed bank to deliver a speech in Moscow just months before the Uranium One sale was approved by the Obama administration.
Since the 1990s and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the U.S. has given billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, a country that has long struggled with internal corruption and Russian antagonism. A businessman from Ukraine was the largest political donor to the Clinton Foundation from 1999 to 2014. Now, Biden wants to give the country another $30 billion. Is this a payoff?
Trump asked Ukraine to investigate fraud by the Biden family. And for that, he was impeached. Biden and the Democrats are an unparalleled disaster that do not deserve your vote!
