HARLINGEN — Vegas or Disney World, take your pick.

A week after unveiling twice-weekly direct flights between Harlingen and Las Vegas, Frontier Airlines on Tuesday revealed plans for direct flights between Valley International Airport and Orlando, Florida.

Officials with the Denver-based low-fare carrier announced 20 new non-stop routes, including the Orlando-Harlingen flights.

The new Florida flights will begin Nov. 1 to and from Harlingen on Mondays and Fridays. An initial low fare of $59 one-way is being offered as a promotion.

“Today’s announcement marks one of our largest international expansions ever and we are thrilled to now offer our customers affordable service to four more popular destinations offering both sun and fun,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president for commercial.

“Summer 2021 has led to phenomenal growth for Frontier and this announcement of 20 new routes comes on the heels of 21 that we unveiled just last week,” he added.

Other new Frontier flights from Orlando include Antigua and Barbuda, Belize City, Liberia, Costa Rica and Turks and Caicos.

New domestic flights from Orlando International Airport include Bentonville, Arkansas, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Last week Frontier announced twice-weekly direct flights between VIA and Las Vegas will commence Sept. 9 on Thursdays and Sundays, with an initial introductory price of $49 for a one-way ticket.

On Nov. 1, the Vegas flights will switch to Mondays and Fridays.
