Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. said the county has officially been approached by SpaceX regarding Elon Musk’s interest to incorporate Boca Chica Village into the City of Starbase, Texas.
Trevino said Cameron County Commissioners Court was informed of SpaceX’s endeavor at Tuesday’s Commissioners Court meeting.
In a press release, the county judge said, “If SpaceX and Elon Musk would like to pursue down this path, they must abide by all state incorporation statutes. Cameron County will process any appropriate petitions in conformity with applicable law.”
In August, SpaceX showed interest in turning Boca Chica Village into a luxury 21st Century Spaceport Resort.
