The Brownsville Independent School District will hold graduation ceremonies for Porter and Veterans Memorial early college high schools at 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, the district announced Tuesday.
Commencement exercises for the two schools were rained out on successive nights Sunday and Monday at the stadium.
The 9 a.m. scheduling will allow BISD to hold the ceremonies as planned, just not as scheduled. Traditionally the ceremonies take place in the early evening, usually at 7:30 p.m., but this year rain and thunderstorms have developed around that time.
Ceremonies have already taken place for Brownsville Early College High School, and Lopez, Hanna and Pace. No announcement has been made for Rivera Early College High School. The Rivera ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
