The city of Pharr announced that its Building and Code Compliance Department will be waiving fees for fence and re-roofing repairs and shingle replacement while prioritizing permits.
The announcement comes in response to the damage caused by this past weekend’s powerful storm.
According to a news release, permitting fees will be waived through Sunday, May 14. The waiver will only be applicable to repairs for damages on fencing and shingles caused by last Friday’s storm.
“This storm caused severe damage and we are working with our community to support our citizens as they clean up in the aftermath and work on repairs,” Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez said in the news release. “By waiving these fees, we can expedite the process for citizens to make the necessary repairs to their homes and properties.”
The waivers are an attempt by the city of Pharr to help offset any additional costs incurred as a result of the storm.
