McAllen police looking for man who broke into woman’s home, choked her

The McAllen Police Department is looking for a 36-year-old man they accuse of breaking into a woman’s home early Wednesday morning and choking her, according to a news release.

Police said the break-in happened at 4:22 a.m. in the 1700 block of west Eagle Ave. where the suspect, Eluid Pina Jr., began “assaulting her…and choking her.”

Pina stands about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds. He has brown eyes and may be driving a Chevrolet Suburban.

“If you know where Eluid Pina Jr. may be located, you are urged to call McAllen Crime Stoppers at 956-687-8477,” the news release stated.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts can also submit an anonymous tip through the smartphone application P3 Tips.
