Monitor reopens its doors to the public

McALLEN — AIM Media Texas is reopening the doors to the public at The Monitor’s headquarters here after more than two years.

The newspaper closed its doors shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread in March 2020, shuttering all types of businesses alike.

Since then, the pandemic has claimed the lives of over 4,000 residents in Hidalgo County alone and thousands more across the Rio Grande Valley.

But after careful consideration, The Monitor is ready to welcome the public into its offices at 1400 E. Nolana Ave. again.

The newspaper’s front lobby will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
