Hidalgo County man accused of coercing teen into sex acts for THC cartridges

A Hidalgo County man was arrested earlier this week after he allegedly coerced a teenager into sexual acts in exchange for money and THC cartridges.

Rogelio Pruneda III, 26, is charged with coercion and enticement of a minor.

According to a criminal complaint, the series of events began in July when Pruneda asked a female relative, who is a minor, to recruit the victim by having her message her through Facebook Messenger, telling her that Pruneda would pay her like a “sugar daddy.”

The victim allowed Pruneda to contact her where he offered to send her money through Cash App and give her THC cartridges in exchange for sexual acts, the complaint said.

On July 22, Pruneda convinced the victim to meet him at a local basketball court where she performed oral sex on Pruneda in his white 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, where Pruneda recorded two videos of her performing the act.

According to the victim, Pruneda met with her on two other occasions over the following months where Pruneda would perform oral sex on her and have sexual intercourse with the minor.

She told authorities that these acts occurred at Pruneda’s father’s auto shop and his grandmother’s residence.

The victim also identified the videos, corroborated the timeline provided and identified Pruneda and his vehicle.

She stated that if any sexually explicit pictures or videos were shared between herself and Pruneda then the male subject depicted would be Pruneda.

Pruneda appeared before Magistrate Judge Nadia S. Medrano on Thursday morning for his initial appearance.
