A Mission resident won $1 million in a scratch-off ticket that featured the prominent Mexican ‘Loteria’ game. The lucky ticket, however, was purchased at a Stripes Store in Alton, located at 523 W. Main Ave.

The claimant elected to remain anonymous, according to a news release from the Texas Lottery on Thursday. It’s unclear when the ticket was purchased or when the claim was made.

“This was the 11th of 12 top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in this game,” the release said. “Million Dollar Loteria offers more than $381 million in total prizes.”

The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.27, including break-even prizes, lottery officials said.
