Mission man charged in crash that killed McAllen motorcyclist

McAllen police have charged a Mission man with criminal negligent homicide for a Tuesday evening crash that killed a motorcyclist.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said officers arrested 28-year-old Joel Bello Galindo, who made a first appearance at the McAllen Municipal Court on Wednesday and received a $75,000 bond on the charge.

The crash, which happened in the 1500 block of South 10th Street at about 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, killed 28-year-old McAllen resident Oscar Fernando Hernandez Alba, according to the release.

“Two vehicles involved in the collision were a motorcycle and a SUV,” the release stated. “Officers on scene determined the SUV struck the motorcycle.”
