The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a holiday auto-pedestrian crash that killed a 33-year-old Alton resident.
In a news release, DPS said Javier Cuellar died on July 4 at approximately 10:11 p.m. on La Homa Road just north of 5 Mile Line Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed a gray Ford Focus driven by a woman heading southbound on La Homa Road hit Cuellar, who was walking from east to west on La Homa Road north of the intersection and was struck by the driver of the Ford, who did stop to render aid, according to the release.
DPS said in the release that troopers are continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
