Pharr police arrested a 45-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage family member after she made an outcry last week, according to a news release from the city of Pharr.

On Saturday, police responded to a call in reference to an alleged sexual assault and spoke with a teenage girl who told officers she had been sexually assaulted by a family member, the release said.

Police identified the alleged offender as Noe Felix Antonio.

Police managed to find Antonio at a Pharr residence, where he was subsequently arrested.

Antonio made his first appearance before a Pharr Municipal Court judge on Sunday. He was charged with eight counts of sexual assault and one count of prohibited sexual contact.

The municipal judge issued him a $1.8 million bond and he was transferred to Hidalgo County jail.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
