Police have arrested the second suspect sought in a sexual assault investigation at The Alibi bar in McAllen.
Jose Enrique Garza, 47, of McAllen was arrested and arraigned Thursday. He was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor, a class A misdemeanor, according to a news release.
Garza was identified by police as an employee of The Alibi, located at 17th Street in McAllen.
He was released Friday on a $5,000 bond, jail records indicate.
McAllen police first arrested Alton resident Juan Martin Villarreal Jr., 30, who authorities say self-identified as the operator of The Alibi, on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting an underage woman.
Villarreal was charged with sexual assault, a second degree felony, and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Villarreal was released on $15,500 in bonds Wednesday.
Authorities said in a news release Wednesday that police were called to DHR Health on April 27 for a sexual assault. The person described as the reporting person in the case told police she was assaulted “in the downtown bar district.”
