Brownsville police have released the identification of a man whose body was found near the Brownsville Toyota dealership this weekend on Sports Park Boulevard.

The man has been identified as 59-year-old Hector Cerda, said investigator Martin Sandoval, spokesman for the Brownsville Police Department, Thursday afternoon.

Employees at the car dealership discovered Cerda’s body Saturday night behind the lot, near the Brownsville Sports Park, police said.

“Right now, we do not suspect foul play,” Sandoval said shortly after Cerda’s body was discovered. “There’s no signs of any foul play… We’re going to wait for the autopsy.”
