Raymondville firm acquires Central Texas internet service provider

Bee Creek Communications Inc.

Raymondville-based VTX1 Companies has purchased Bee Creek Communications Inc. of Fredericksburg, an internet service provider since 2001 in the Hill Country area.

Bee Creek, with 3,400 subscribers, offers service in Kendall, Kerr and Gillespie counties as well as some coverage in Blanco County. Services provided by Bee Creek include internet and VOIP telephone service to both residential and business customers.

“We had a great run with Bee Creek, and it was time to pass the reins,” said Mike Kunz, president of Bee Creek. “We are excited about the acquisition by VTX1, as they share the same values of excellent customer service, and community support, while continuing to grow and expand our network to offer faster and reliable speeds.”

No purchase price was announced.

The acquisition of Bee Creek is the third such addition to VTX1 in the past seven months, and the fifth in five years.

Expansion into the Hill Country is a first for VTX1 and the service area will be in proximity to other acquisitions that provide VTX1 broadband services in the northwestern portion of San Antonio, Seguin and its surrounding area, and the Georgetown area, 30 miles north of Austin.

“Acquiring Bee Creek Communications Inc. truly comprises the best of both worlds for VTX1 Companies,” said Dave Osborn, CEO of VTX1. “The Hill County is a vibrant and growing community, so it is a pleasure of ours to add this to our available options for service to our customers who choose to live in this area.”

The addition of Bee Creek puts the Raymondville firm at more than 40,000 subscribers.
