The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and another hospitalized Friday.
Troopers said the crash occurred at about 3:20 p.m. Friday in the vicinity of State Highway 48 in Cameron County.
A black Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound on the highway when a Ford F-150 driving on the improved shoulder changed lanes. DPS said this was “unsafe causing the driver of the Chevrolet to take (evasive) action to avoid a collision.”
Brownsville native Adam Lee Flores, 44, lost control of the Camaro and crashed into a Ford F-150.
Flores died of his injuries at the scene, according to the release. The driver of the Ford was taken to the nearest hospital.
