Border agents found nearly $1 million worth of cocaine Sunday at the Falfurrias checkpoint.

Border Patrol agents stationed at the Falfurrias checkpoint stopped a Mazda CX-9 for inspection after the K-9 unit alerted authorities toward the vehicle, according to an agency news release.

After searching the vehicle agents found 12 bundles of cocaine in the center console and door panels of the vehicle.

The driver and narcotics were taken into custody by a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to the release, the cocaine weighed more than 29 pounds and is valued at almost $1 million.

There were two other seizures over the weekend that netted authorities over 100 pounds of marijuana.
