250 pounds of cocaine, vehicles seized in Reynosa chop shop

Tamaulipas state police in Mexico seized about 250 pounds of cocaine and several modified vehicles from a chop shop in Reynosa on Saturday, according to a news release.

Officers who form part of a specialized state police force known as GOPES made the finding in the Reynosa neighborhood of Ernesto Zedillo on Saturday.

A trailer was found in a chop shop where vehicles are broken down and modified for criminal use. About 104 packages of cocaine that weighed about 250 pounds were in the trailer.

Five other vehicles and another trailer that were being modified were seized along with the drugs.

Tamaulipas investigators believe the drugs have a value of about $400,000.

An investigation is ongoing.
