Border Patrol detains 86 between 2 stash houses

U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector managed to apprehend 86 people from two separate stash houses, including an abandoned business, on Monday, according to a news release.

Monday afternoon, agents responded to a business office in Mission where they say they found 47 people inside, along with piles of trash stacked up to the ceiling.

Border Patrol did not disclose the name of the abandoned business nor where the individuals are from.

Later that day, agents in the Weslaco Border Patrol station aided McAllen police officers in a request for assistance at a residence where several individuals were using a home as a stash house.

Agents found 39 adults from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Ecuador.

No caretakers were identified at either location.
