Single death due to COVID-19, 110 more cases in Hidalgo County

Hidalgo County reported one COVID-19 related death and 110 additional cases Wednesday morning.

According to a news release, a Mission man over the age of 70 died due to COVID-19. The county’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 2,894.

The 110 new positive cases include 71 confirmed cases, 38 probable and one suspected. The county has had a total of 92,467 positive cases, of which 60,409 were confirmed, 29,875 probable cases and 2,183 suspected.

As of Wednesday morning, there are 75 people in county hospitals with the virus, and 23 people are in intensive care units.

There were an additional 85 people released from isolation Wednesday, raising that total to 89,075. There are 501 net active cases in the county.

Hidalgo County has administered a total of 523,614 COVID-19 tests, and 430,337 had negative results.
