4 new COVID-19 deaths in Hidalgo County; 783 more cases

158 with virus in local hospitals

Four additional deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported in Hidalgo County on Monday morning.

The death toll is now 2,708, according to a county news release.

County officials also confirmed 783 new cases of the virus, bringing the case tally to 81,248.

Of the new cases, 764 are confirmed, 26 probable and three suspected.

Also on Monday, 810 people were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, bringing that total to 76,281, according to the release.

There are 2,259 active cases left in the county.

Additionally, there currently are 158 people in local hospitals fighting the virus, of which 67 are in intensive care units.
