Police: No bond for Harlingen murder suspect

Harlingen Police say a suspect accused of killing a man last week is being held without bond.

On Friday, investigators released a photo of Jose Isaias Soto Martinez as the man they say killed 63-year-old Eric Armstrong on Monday, March 1 at a home on the 1900 block of East Van Buren St.

On Tuesday, a municipal judge arraigned Soto Martinez on a murder charge and gave him no bond. Police have not released a motive for the killing or explained how the men knew each other.

Shortly after Armstrong was killed, police sought a man captured on a door bell camera seen leaving the area. He was then captured on a security camera jumping into the bed of a black pickup.

The young man in the door bell image does not appear to be the same man in the mugshot released by police.
