DHR Health announces 3-day clinic for second dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine

EDINBURG — Doctors Hospital at Renaissance will hold a 3-day vaccination clinic for second doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine beginning Sunday.

The clinic is only for those who received their first dose of the vaccine from DHR Health on Jan. 24, Jan. 25 and Jan. 26.

“All second doses with DHR Health are guaranteed,” the hospital said in a Facebook post Friday. “Bring your vaccination card and ID. Return on the date scheduled on the back of your vaccination card to avoid long wait times.”

Hospital officials are asking residents to be prepared for cold temperatures and possible rain. Attendees may need to wait in their vehicles.

“(There is) no need to rush to get in line. All second doses with DHR Health are guaranteed,” the post continued.

The clinic will be held at the Edinburg Conference Center, 118 Paseo Del Prado, on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The hospital is asking residents not to arrive hours earlier.

“We won’t open doors until the time scheduled, so please don’t put yourself through that,” DHR spokeswoman Marcy Martinez said. “We do have outdoor heaters, but bundle up, and if you think you’ll need something to snack on or drink, please bring that with you.”

The hospital will also provide a valet curbside wheelchair service up front and will not vaccinate anyone who received their first dose elsewhere.
