Palmview police are still working to identify the body of a man found Sunday in a field at the end of Silver Spur Lane.
Police Chief Gilbert Zamora said a Palmview resident discovered the deceased individual in a brushy area in an open field while driving his ATV.
“Officers responded and located a body of a male subject between the ages of 30-35 years old. The deceased person has not been positively identified,” Zamora said. “The body has been sent for an autopsy and investigators are working in identifying the person by means of fingerprinting.”
Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra announced the discovery of the decomposed man on his Twitter account Sunday evening.
Guerra said the sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit and crime scene specialists responded to the scene to assist the department.
