Brownsville police seek help identifying driver of vehicle

Brownsville police is seeking assistance from the public to locate the driver of black SUV involved in an altercation with another driver, who ended up dying from a gunshot wound.

Police believe the altercation between the two drivers occurred at N. Illinois and FM 802 sometime before 3 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities report 25-year-old Luis Enrique Gonzalez was found at the 7700 block of Highway 48 that same afternoon and that he had been shot.

Gonzalez was transported to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville where he died from his injuries. Another person was found with Gonzalez and was also transported to the hospital. This person was not shot.
