The Starbucks at 4247 N. Expressway 77 in Brownsville has been temporarily closed after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials stated after learning of the positive test results, the store was immediately closed and was undergoing a deep cleaning.

The employee and all other employees that may have come in contact with them are self isolating, a Starbucks spokesperson said in a statement.

All employees who worked in close contact with the employee will be paid for the time they will miss during the recommended 14 days of self-isolation.

The store will reopen on Saturday with reduced hours. It will be staffed by employees who did not work in close contact with the infected employee.
