According to DPS Sgt. Maria Montalvo, the aircraft experienced mechanical failure and crashed into some brush as the pilot attempted to land.

The pilot was flying a Meyers 200A, a single-engine aircraft. He reportedly sustained only minor injuries.

“We did have a local resident that saw the crash and helped pull the pilot out of the crash,” Montalvo said.
