The link for pre-registration will go live at 6 p.m., and city officials say registrants should expect some lag time. Due to the number of vaccines available and the high demand for registration, city officials also said the online registration may fill up very quickly.

Though registration is encouraged to avoid long wait times, city officials said walk-ins will be welcomed after 1 p.m. Friday if there are still vaccine doses available.

Citing previous vaccine clinics, McAllen officials are advising:

>> Bring ID

>> Proof of medical condition (current medication or a prescription from doctor)

>> Bring clearance letter from physician

>> Work ID or other proof of employment

>> Individuals are encouraged to bring water and snacks

>> There could be periods of waiting and sitting in vehicle

>> Children 18 and younger should not be at the clinic

>> Those seeing vaccines with mobility concerns may bring one person to help them
