18 BISD Schools Named to Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll

Eighteen Brownsville Independent School District schools have been named to the 2019–2020 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll, and BISD is one of 300 public school districts in Texas to  achieve the distinction.

The awards program is sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence and is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes.

The 18 honor roll schools are:

>> Benavides, Breeden, Brite, Egly, Garden Park, Gonzalez, Keller, Longoria, Ortiz, Paredes, Pena, Pullam, Putegnat, Sharp and Yturria elementry schools

>> Manzano and Vela middle schools and

>> Brownsville Early College High School.

“We are honored to be recognized by educational and business leaders through the ERP Honor Roll,” said BISD Superintendent René Gutiérrez. “We are continually striving to increase academic achivement and improve educational outcomes for all of our students. Our teachers and adminstrators are fully commited and we are thrilled to see their hard work and dedication produce such positive results.”

“Brownsville ISD did not apply for these awards,” Gutiérrez added. “Our results led them to us and because of our accomplishment, we will be featured on the ERP Honor Roll website. We are thankful for the hard work of our students and teachers.”
