Brownsville COVID-19 threat matrix has increased to a Level 4 Severe, up from a Level 3 Significant.
The change comes after the city has been reporting at least 100 positives cases per day over the last week.
City officials are requesting residents take the following steps to make the holiday’s safer:
>>Residents need to minimize contact with others
>>Avoid leaving home except for essential needs like going to work, grocery shopping, or seeking medical care
>>Wash your hands frequently with soap and water
>>Practice social distancing and avoid crowded places
>> Wear your mask when out in the public
