An open letter to the president

Dear Mr. President, The nation has agonized over the frequent gun violence in schools. I imagine that you and Congress are working on good solutions

to deal with this problem. In the meantime I would like to respectfully ask that you post (by executive order) four to six soldiers around the periphery of our schools. It seems to me that many members of our military are likely to volunteer for this service to keep children and educators safe in schools.

We have military bases around the country that could be called on. In areas that are far from military bases, we have military recruitment facilities.

Soldiers could be attached to these recruiting facilities on a rotational basis, and available to keep our schools safe.

Please Mr. President let us have some stop-gap measure in place while the best solutions are still being planned out.

Sincerely, Dr. Mikson Ehimika, Harlingen
